Hi, I'm Nicole. Welcome to my store....

It took more than a few years of talking about it and a year to do the research and write the business plan, then when my third child arrived, I realized that was all the motivation I needed to get started and open the doors to The Material Girl Fabric & Quilting Supplies Store on August 5, 2006. With my 2 year old in tow, I pursued my dream of owning my own business.
I bring my passion for textiles, background in business management and interior design, mix those skills up with a little retro flare for fun and I have created a store for every age. The Material Girl offers quality designer fabrics, notions, and a fun selection of new and old vintage gift items and provides a diversity of sewing and quilting classes.
The layout of the store was designed around my son Riley, complete with a big playroom to encourage other parents to bring their little ones in to play while they shop or get inspired to learn or create a sewing project. I plan to expand my classes to offer Spanish and more children’s classes.
I recently had the opportunity to organize and hold Windsor’s first annual Quilt show, with portions of the proceeds donated to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Race and I always have some special fabrics set aside for the cause. My dream and hope is that the annual Quilt show will grow bigger each year and we will have the opportunity to raise more money and awareness for a cause that I believe will make a difference.
Overall, I would like to extend out an invitation to visit our store. Even if you do not sew, we are sure there is a little something special for The Material Girl in you!
